To all Members old and new...... After 5 years of being at a stand still, I am happy to announce that this forum will be back up and running at full force with in the next month. I have to get a hold of Triad, but once I do, we should be going as normal again. Bare with us on this transition, there is a lot of information that we will need to change/update as to the change in the systems since we last did this site. Yes to both.

For MP3's I use XMMS which is very similar to Winamp.

For VCD's I use XINE which also plays DVD's as well.

XMMS is good but I would recommend the use of Audacious, it has replaced XMMS as the media player that is actively worked on and is compatable with XMMS and WinAmp. Audacious seems to have inherited XMMS’s title as de facto music player for GNU/Linux. XMMS2 died off, and BMPx is going nowhere so, if you’re still using XMMS or BMP, try Audacious. The worst thing that will happen is you’ll rediscover how easy it is to listen to music on GNU/Linux.
